Nick Lindberg, Sr. Consulting Engineer

Nick Lindberg received a B.S. double major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2003 and went on to receive his M.S. in Computer Engineering in 2004, specializing in computer architecture design and modeling.

In 2005, he began working full time for IBM's server group in Rochester, MN.  After a year and a half in the  virtualization space developing Hypervisor technology, he moved to the hardware architecture performance group working on future system development. While there, he participated in performance, simulation, and high level modeling of the Power6/7 and Wire Speed Processor (WSP) architectures, as well as software and firmware development, and even received a number of patents related to his work.

Joining the Institute in October 2011 as Senior Consulting Engineer, Mr. Lindberg is in charge of overseeing the software and hardware needs of the Institute, including cluster administration and support, and provides technical guidance and direction in the area of high performance computing.  His background and experience working with a broad range of architectures and programming techniques bolster the Institute's ability to provide resources in the high performance computing space on multiple levels.  He also owns a small computer consulting business, Engage Computing, LLC.  [email: nlindberg@mkei.org; phone: 414.727.6413]
