06.10.11 - The Institute announced today that it is leading a collabortive team submitting a $10M grant proposal in response to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) solicitation on "Open Manufacturing Systems." This public-private partnership comprises researchers from Rockwell Automation, Rockwell Collins, University of Wisconsin Madison and Milwaukee, Meta Command Systems and Cyranet Systems. The project addresses system architecture, software and advanced process scheduling services for enabling businesses to efficiently form federated cloud-based supply chains, or "virtual organizations." The Institute will act as the Prime Contractor and Institute Executive Director Jay Bayne will act as the project's Principal Investigator.
